Everything old is new again
Well, it’s come to this. The only good social media site is shutting down. Didn’t expect everyone to be spinning up blogs again, but after using Cohost for the past couple years, I don’t think I could go back to exclusively posting via microblogging either. So here we are.
I’ll probably write a proper eulogy on Cohost before the end of the month (feel like it might help get a sense of closure), but I’m really gonna miss that place. Still going to be around there until none of us can post anymore, but wanted to get this all up and running quickly before Cohost starts winding down. Right now it’s just some posts I’m backing up from there, but I’ll be using this space to write about whatever. Feels much better to not be limited to a few hundred characters to post with.
There’s a comments section I’ve set up just in case. Don’t know if I’ll put it on every post going forward, but it’s nice to have the option available, I figure. Don't know if I'll stick this or try another (just went with the first one I saw that didn't take much effort). I'll make a post if anything changes on that front.
I set up a website as well, but I’m still working out what I’m going to do with that. Just a landing page right now. Maybe that’s all it needs to be? Don’t know.
If you’re from Cohost, thanks for being part of something special. Hopefully we’ll all be able to keep in touch.
