Happy Pride!
Went to the local Pride event. It was fun! It was nice being around other queer people for a bit. Small moment of joy amid the constant deluge of misery that is current events. I haven't been to many Pride events in the years since I've been out (partially because I didn't know when they were, partially because I didn't have time when I did know when they were happening), so it was nice to spend a couple of hours wandering around taking in the vibes.
Kinda wish I'd had some way of being more visibly queer while out there. I do prefer to blend into a crowd, but times like this, being slightly more visible wouldn't hurt. Meant to take wear a couple pins or buttons to have something, but forgot them in my haste to get out there on time. Seeing so many others be their authentic selves is inspiring and affirming, you know? Would be nice to be a part of that.
Maybe I should try getting some of the pride art I've commissioned printed and put it on a sign or a shirt. Hm. Something to look into.
