Haven't posted here in a bit. Been wanting to get another link round up finished or write about any number of things I've been thinking about, but most of my writing time has been spent on work. So it goes.
I went to Portland a couple weeks ago to hang with some friends and compete in a local fighting game tournament. Didn't do that well in the bracket (went 1-2), but seeing some folks I haven't seen in a couple years and meeting some others I've only known online in person was wonderful. Had a great time! Was nice to see everyone again. Looking forward to doing so again soon.
Only regret is that I didn't have much time to actually see Portland itself. I've been up there a few times this year, but usually around the outskirts than in the city proper. One of these days I'll have time to actually explore the city I hope. Was fun doing that last time I was in Seattle, brief as it was.
I also reviewed 1000 Deaths, a surreal speedrunning platformer where you jump through time helping a group of friends change the direction of their lives at key moments. Really cool game. One of those discoveries that makes writing about games worthwhile because I likely would have missed it if I hadn't gotten that review code offer. Been so busy I forgot to share it here lol.
