Proximate is good

Excellent game. Stumbling around in the dark only able to navigate via text interpretations of your visor makes moving through rooms a challenge and unnerving in equal measure. Your vision being filtered through text makes every moment tense. Partially from the distance it creates from your immediate surroundings and how trustful the visor's interpretations are, but also the audio and how it allows the imagination to run wild. It's a quiet game on the whole, but the rare moments sound other than your own footsteps come up are incredibly effective and creepy.
It's also surprisingly funny. Proximate builds suspense splendidly and is often heart-wrenching (the queer love story at its core especially so), but the ways it perfectly captures the casual often awkward tone of group chats in its text logs is impressive. Very easy to fumble that by being too forced with the humor, but it balances everything well.
