Ranking of Super Mario Party Jamboree boards

Played some of the newest Mario Party with the family recently. Whether any of these games are actually good is debatable, but they are very funny, so that counts for something. Anything that gets all of together to play is doing something right.

Here's a very off the cuff ranking of the boards. Didn't put much thought into it because I don't want to write a whole thing about Mario Party boards (though I probably could if I wanted to).

  1. Rainbow Galleria – This one's the best purely because of how easy it is to earn multiple stars in a single turn. The ease with which you can earn coins means you the threat of star theft is very high for maximum chaos.
  2. Goomba Lagoon - Getting stranded on certain parts of the board when the tide rises is funny, and Mario Party is nothing if not funny. It's okay otherwise.
  3. Western Land - Decent choice for something from Mario Party 2. The train adds some fun potential for fuckery.
  4. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party - Pretty okay. Nothing exciting, but pleasant. One of the better more basic boards they've done.
  5. Roll 'em Raceway - Cool idea, but lacking execution. There being only two places the star can spawn makes things too simple. Needs something more to spice it up.
  6. Mario's Rainbow Castle - About as simple a board as you can get. It's okay. Just not very interesting. Disappointing choice for bringing an old board back.

Unranked: King Bowser's Keep because we haven't unlocked it yet. My gut says it would it probably have a lot of potential for some fun shenanigans.
